The United States is a vast country. You can find RVs parked alongside highways, in campgrounds, and traveling wherever you go in it, from Alaska to Florida. However, while it is possible to set out in your mobile home without a plan and just go wherever, it’s unwise. This post hopes to tell you about a few destination ideas that you can travel to in your RV so that you are able to create a more effective plan. By planning your trip, you will get more out of it and have a better time.
Europe
Most of the destinations that will come in this post will be in the United States. The reason for this is that the United States has thousands of campgrounds and sites accommodating RVs year-round, making it the ideal place to travel. It’s also worth noting that in the United States, road trips in RVs are an accepted part of the culture. According to the people from moderncampground.com, Europe can be a good place to visit too though, with them specifically mentioning Germany. Those interested in traveling through Europe need to make sure that they arrange their visa and entry permits prior to traveling. Once a European visa has been obtained, travelers are free to visit all of the Schengen states, which include Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Germany. You can order your Schengen permit on the internet or from your local European embassy or office.
Florida
Florida is one of the best places in the entire United States to go on a road trip. The reason for this is that in the state, there are lots of campgrounds and the weather is fantastic. You could even park your RV by a beach and camp there for the entire summer, assuming the parking lot allows camping. Florida is also a vast state with lots of open spaces, making it ideal for people who enjoy wild camping. If you do plan on traveling through Florida, try to time your visit so that it doesn’t coincide with the storm season.
Alaska
Alaska is another great place to go on a road trip and to go camping. One of the reasons that Alaska’s so great is because it is so vast and is still very wild. While a lot of people live in Alaska, it is quite remote. There are also lots of outdoor pursuits people can do up there, from hunting to mountain climbing. Fishing is also great in Alaska and boat charters are very easy to organize. If you plan to travel to Alaska, you can drive up through Canada or you can take a plane and then hire an RV while you are there.
California
California is usually pretty high on most people’s lists of places to go when they are traveling through the United States. The reason for this is that California has some of the best highways in the entire country, especially for people driving RVs. California also has some fantastic beaches and great weather, as well as amazing food. If you plan on taking a trip to California, be sure to see the entire state rather than focusing on Los Angeles, which most people do. Northern California is just as interesting and arguably more beautiful.
Louisiana
Louisiana is a great place to go if you are somebody with an interest in colonial history. Louisiana was a former colony of the French and had a unique past, with unique towns and cities and significant French influence, which cannot be found in other parts of the country. Baton Rouge, the state capital, is worth a visit, as is New Orleans, home of Mardi Gras. If you time your visit to coincide with Mardi Gras, make sure that you park your RV out of the city, otherwise, it could get stuck and you could be unable to get it out until the festivities have concluded.
New Jersey
Finally, New Jersey is worth a visit. Most people, when New Jersey comes up in conversation, think about The Sopranos, a hit HBO mob drama. However, there is a lot more to New Jersey than just the locations featured in that particular show. The Pine Barrens is worth a visit, as are the other wooded areas and forests. New Jersey is a great place to go camping because of how sprawling the state is and how much outdoor space there is.
Are you planning on taking an RV tour? If so, consider the destinations outlined above. All of these places have accommodations for campers and RV drivers in place, making them ideal locations that you should prioritize going to over other places in the United States and even the world.
