My name is Katie Anne and welcome to my article on the Amangiri Resort of Utah. I grew up in San Jose, California and now reside in Menlo Park, California with my husband and two stepkids. I was working in tech for several years where I learned a lot about social media platforms and how to utilize them. During that time, I also traveled a bit for work and leisure.
After a while I found a new hobby that wasn’t only beneficial for my mental health but also allowed me to learn how to care for living things – plants! I started a “plantstagram” account that now has over 20,000 followers. Here I show my personal plant collection, share how to take care of plants, and recommend plant items and small businesses that I love working with.
Two Incredible Stays at Amangiri Resort
I have been lucky that travel is starting to open up and now I’m traveling almost every week with my family and friends. One trip that I took recently (July, 2021) was to Amangiri. This resort is a personal favorite of a friend of ours who frequently stays. After my husband and I got married, we took a trip together with our friends and stayed at the resort for the first time.
We stayed at the main resort Amangiri (before Camp Sarika was built) and booked a studio suite that had epic views of the canyons. On this stay, we were there for four nights with a mix of lounging and enjoying the resort, and taking a day trip out on Lake Powell for swimming and slot canyoning.
Most recently we brought our family back for a four night stay at Camp Sarika and had a similar itinerary to our first trip with a mix of pool days, resort lounging and a boat charter to Lake Powell. It was a wonderful trip!

Modern Architecture Fused with Nature
When I describe Amangiri to my friends and family, I like to tell them that it’s a special place where you can enjoy the amenities such as the central pavilion, pool or the spa but where you can also plan to do nothing (since you are literally in the middle of nowhere). When you arrive at the resort, you feel as if you are the only people there. Amangiri is such a unique place.
With its stunning views and modern architecture, it creates a feeling of being at peace with yourself and your surroundings. The resort is surrounded by beautiful canyons that blend so seamlessly allowing you to feel as if you are immersed in it. There are so many adventures you can have outside of the resort too, which takes your stay to the next level.

What are the Rooms Like at Amangiri?
During our first four night stay in Amangiri, we slept in the suites of the resort which are all located on the ground floor. Each suite sits up against a beautiful view of the canyons and features floor to ceiling windows that open up to the outside where it feels as if you can just walk right out.
The king-sized stone beds are all positioned in the middle of the room to take full advantage of the views. Each room has a dressing room, twin head shower and deep soaking tubs. Our suite also came with a lounge deck and plunge pool which we took advantage of in the Utah heat.
During our most recent trip, we brought friends and family and stayed in the 2 bedroom tents at Camp Sarika. A five-minute drive from Amangiri, Camp Sarika is ideal for families with pavilions, indoor living and dining areas, as well as terraces with fire pits and plunge pools. The best part was driving the golf carts from our pavilion to the lobby restaurant and pool!

Facilities at Amangiri & Camp Sarika
The facilities at Amangiri include a pavilion that has an all-day restaurant, a swimming pool that is wrapped around a beautiful boulder and lounging deck, as well as a living room, library and gallery filled with works by local artists. There is also a spa where guests can enjoy treatments, a sauna and cold pool, as well as a fully equipped fitness center.
Camp Sarika has a restaurant that focuses on family-style dining, a pool and spa facilities. Evening events such as storytelling, astronomy night, and s’mores night are available for guests. Both places have amazing facilities.

Highlights from my Stays at Amangiri
We enjoyed a boat charter that was arranged by the Concierge during both of our trips. We got to swim in coves, paddle board, hike to Rainbow bridge, as well as hike the slot canyons. That was truly the best part of both stays!
Although, every moment spent at Amangiri was special because I was able to wind down, relax and take in all the beauty that was surrounding me. I didn’t have an agenda or timeline and could slow down, live on my own schedule and enjoy everything the resort had to offer at my own leisure.

Need to Know Before you Go
Amangiri works closely with their preferred charter airlines which will fly you directly to the airport closest to the resort. From there, Amangiri will send a car to pick you up and transfer you to the resort. The same goes for departure. This is convenient but of course will be a significant expense.
All in all, I would rate Amangiri as a 10/10! It’s truly the best experience I have had at a resort. Our personal preferences were acknowledged and the staff made us feel right at home. The care and attention to detail elevates any experience at Amangiri from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
