We have the answers you have questions – like Disney World or Disneyland: what’s the difference and which park to choose – which is needed if you’re traveling to the Happiest Place on Earth and are unsure of what to do while you’re there. Our answer, Disneyland! There are always must do’s that will guarantee your trip to Disneyland is the best, even though it seems like the list is never-ending and you can’t complete it all in one go. Thus, these are some of our 5 suggestions for things to do at Disneyland if you’re unsure what to do. Let’s go:
1. Get a Dole Whip
You’ve probably heard of Dole Whips, delicious treats with their roots in Disneyland. There are two spots in the parks where you can get the classic pineapple soft serve. First, you can order one at the Enchanted Tiki Room stand exclusively through mobile. The second location is at The Tropical Hideaway, right around the corner from the Jungle Cruise exit.
We adore the original pineapple flavor on its own or combined with pineapple juice to make a float. It is available at the Tropical Hideaway in several flavors, such as mango, watermelon, and raspberry.
2. Explore the Disneyland Railroad
This is an excellent means to experience every area of Disneyland Park, including some exclusive behind-the-scenes content. You will discover new information about the park as you travel through it. Going back in time to the era of the dinosaurs is one of our favorite parts of the ride!
Walt always loved the Disneyland Railroad, and at one point, he even owned it until Walt Disney Co. bought it. Beginning at the Main Street station, the Grand Tour runs around the whole park, stopping at Tomorrowland, Toontown, and New Orleans Square.
3. Check Out Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
Walt created the program Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which is highly regarded. Many of the animatronics we see in theme parks today were made possible by the pioneering audio animatronic used in Mr. Lincoln. The play, which spans roughly twenty minutes, tells the story of Abraham Lincoln’s life before and during his presidency.
The theatre is next to the Disney Gallery at the start of Main Street in Town Hall. It’s a great spot to cool off on a hot day and enjoy peace while watching a classic. A gigantic model of the Congress building and other Disneyland artifacts will also be on display.
4. Stroll Through New Orleans Square
You’ll need to do this to enter attractions like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. But spend some time strolling the streets, stopping at all the stores, eateries, and general land beauty. This land is only found in Disneyland, designed to resemble New Orleans right down to the lampposts and railings.
Walt and the mayor of New Orleans at the time of the property’s opening cut the ribbon. Since then, the area has expanded to include many stores, attractions, and amazing restaurants! It is not to be missed when they decorate the area during Mardi Gras.
5. Indulge in a Churro
There is no churro maker like Disneyland. These are a must-try item in the parks, freshly baked and perfectly seasoned. Before long, you’ll notice that churro stands are everywhere and that the smell is unavoidable. So, succumb to the temptation and get one. You won’t be sorry!
Even though we love the original churro, there are some excellent seasonal flavors and dips available. Every stand has a rotating selection of churros throughout the year, but the original and a seasonal variety are usually available. We like them best when they are both crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
6. Get on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Ride
We could make a long list of attractions, but we’ll assume that you’ve already made plans for the majority, so we’ve limited it to a select few. Chief among them is Big Thunder Mountain. It’s an absolute must-do experience, the wildest ride in the woods.
There will be twists, turns, red rock, waterfalls, and more on your train ride. It’s the ideal roller coaster for people of all ages and will make you smile. For more articles to help you have unique experiences in Disneyland, TravelWise is all you need.
