My name is Angela from the Instagram account @lensereflection. Welcome to my blog on why the United Kingdom is such an amazing place to visit. I was born in London and still live here today. My parents are from Italy and Poland – so I have enjoyed a multicultural upbringing.
I’ve been interested in photography from a young age. I started taking photos with my parents camera from the age of 6. We used to take our film to the local chemist for developing photos. I would get so excited. I couldn’t wait to go and collect the photos from the chemist a week later.
In my teenage years my passion for photography grew and grew. All of my pocket money was spent on photography film and disposable flash bulbs. I still have boxes of photos in my loft at home which I could never throw away. I also became inspired about nature and my surroundings.
No matter the season or the weather – I wanted to get out outside and capture winter wonderlands, magical sunsets and summer evenings. I purchased an editing program and had many friends and family request editing services. Editing photos is something I enjoy to this very day.
Journey as a Photographer and Instagrammer
In 2018, I decided to make an Instagram account. It would be a place where I would post my photos and see if the world responded positively. I chose the Instagram name Lensereflection. The name came from the fact that a photograph is a reflection of what the eye can see but captured forever.
My Instagram page has been a success. Now, I also have my own website – www.lensereflectionphotography.co.uk. I offer editing services of old and damaged photos. It’s a hobby that I enjoy. Photography makes me look forward to the weekend when I travel somewhere new that inspires me.
I have sold many photos and some have been included in top magazines. But it still remains a hobby. I can’t think of a more enjoyable way of spending a weekend than seeing beautiful sights and capturing them.
On my website I offer photo editing and restoration services. I love bringing old photos back to their original beauty. Customers approach me because a certain photo has sentimental value to them. Seeing a restored photo brings them true happiness and I love that feeling of helping others.

Why the United Kingdom is so Special
The United Kingdom is one of the best places in the world to visit for travel and photography. Our country has an endless history and so many inspiring destinations. Beauty is everywhere no matter the season.
It all starts in London. Our capital city offers historic buildings and amazing places to have lunch or dinner like the Shard and Oxo Tower Wharf. The museums of London are inspiring too. My favourite museum is Victoria and Albert Museum named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
No trip to the United Kingdom is complete without visiting the Abbey Road crossing which was made famous by the Beatles in 1969. You can take photos here with friends and recapture that famous album cover. This road is also close to a famous recording studio called “Abbey Road Studios”.
London has its share of amazing theatres. Theatre Royal is a great example. It’s one of the oldest theatres in the United Kingdom and is housed in a spectacular building. The grand appearance of this theatre eclipses many others on the West End. It’s owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Stunning Landscapes of the United Kingdom
Not only are the cities fantastic but the landscapes are breathtaking too. We have the Cotswold which is an area of outstanding beauty. Most of the villages take you back in time. It feels like the England of old. Just picture villages with thatched roofed cottages and original stone walls.
Then there is the Lake District. I often frequent this region of northwest England. Each time I visit I am totally inspired. This is a predominantly rural county and is famous for its lakes and mountainous fells carved out by glaciers. It’s an outdoor playground for hikers and adventure enthusiasts.
The Jurassic Coast in Dorset is another amazing place to visit. This UNESCO world heritage site stretches from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset. Durdle Door is probably the most famous stone arch anywhere in the world. It was created naturally by sea movements. While exploring this incredible coastline, don’t miss the opportunity to venture further and discover the hidden gem of Mupe Bay, an anchoring destination that offers stunning coastal views.

Exploring the Beautiful Scotland and Wales
I have to mention the Highlands of Scotland. These endless mountains will take your breath away. A major highlight is seeing Highland Cows. This animal is known locally as the “Heilan Coo” and it’s such a beautiful breed to photograph. The castles of the Highlands are epic too.
Eilean Donan Castle is the most inspiring place to me. The castle is situated on the west coast of Scotland on the road to the Isle of Skye between Loch Duich, Loch Alsh and Loch Long. It has the most amazing location and you can feel the history here with its grey skies reflecting on the water.
Wales is a must-see destination on your visit to the United Kingdom. It has so much rich history, beautiful landscapes and unspoiled land. Snowdonia, for example, is a mountainous region in northwest Wales and offers 823 square miles of national park. If you like hiking then this is the place to be!
Plus Wales is famous for its traditional slate roof houses with amazing rooftops. These stunning pieces of architecture make Wales a delight to explore and travel through. Again, it’s like stepping back in time.

Capturing the Cottages of the United Kingdom
I love to photograph cottages. The ones that look quaint with thatched roofs. I have photographed so many over the years and to this day I can’t walk beside one without stopping to take a photo. My all time favourite cottage is a small pretty one in Bourn, Cambridgeshire.
When I took a photo of this cottage, the owner came out and was stoked that we were taking photos of his house. No doubt, he was proud of his place. It had roses growing up the walls in perfect harmony.

Visiting the United Kingdom is a Trip of a Lifetime
If you are planning on travelling to the United Kingdom you will not be disappointed. Firstly, you should decide what you want to see and do. You might choose to see the cities, go hiking in the Lake District or visit the coast. Perhaps you will choose the Cotswald. The options are endless.
The United Kingdom is full of amazing places that will take your breath away. After your first visit you will want to come back for more. This land is magical, green and beautiful all over and in every type of weather condition. No doubt, visiting the United Kingdom is a trip of a lifetime!
