What Inspired Us to Visit the Azores
Our inspiration to visit the Azores islands was a combination of irresistible factors. First of all, the natural beauty of the archipelago is unparalleled, with stunning landscapes that include volcanic mountains, serene lakes and rugged coastlines. The rich biodiversity on offer, with the opportunity to observe whales and dolphins, was also a major attraction for us.
Additionally, Azorean culture, with its unique traditions, local festivals and distinctive cuisine, piqued my curiosity. I really love exploring the cultural aspects of the destinations we visit. Ricardo, on the other hand, was captivated by the opportunities for outdoor adventures such as hiking spectacular trails, diving and kayaking. Faial, in particular, holds a special meaning for me as it’s the island where my maternal grandfather is from.
The combination of these experiences, and the promise of adventure and discovery, were the key factors that inspired us to embark on our trip to the Azores. Together, we have explored Sao Miguel, Faial, Pico, Sao Jorge, Terceira, Flores and Corvo. We shared our experiences and tips on our travel blog to inspire other travelers to explore this incredible destination.
