Hello everyone! We are Sara & Lorenzo. Both 26 years old and we come from Bologna, Italy. Welcome to our couples guide to Egypt. This historic nation is a place we long dreamed about visiting. The Pyramids were high on our bucket list and we waited for years to see them.
We met each other in 2015 in an unexpected way: through a dating app! It was love at first sight when we met for the first time. Since that moment, we started to travel around the world together. Our first trip was to New York City after only one month of being together.
The Travelization project was born a couple years later in 2017. It started when Lorenzo had to give an exam at university about blogging. We created the blog to share our experiences: details about trips, travel tips and advice on how to organize a holiday.
Now, after almost 2 and a half years of blogging, we are satisfied with The Travelization project. We have a huge community of followers and readers that follow our tips and who are always connected with us.
Passing the days writing posts on the blog, sharing stories and pictures about our trips on social media is a pleasure for us.

Couples Guide to Egypt: Our Two Week Itinerary
Our first impression of Egypt was that it was not dangerous as many back home in Italy would have us believe. Egyptians are wonderful people – despite being persistent when it comes to selling you stuff in the markets or in shops. That’s always a bit of fun anyway!
We spent 14 incredible days in Egypt. We started from Hurghada where we spent 4 days. Then we moved to Cairo and Giza in order to admire the amazing architecture of the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum and other stunning archaeological sites.
After that, we went to Luxor and from there we departed with a ship on a beautiful Nile cruise through Luxor, Esna, Aswan and Abu Simbel. It was an action-packed couple of weeks.

Favourite Places and Memories of the Trip
We saw so many beautiful places in Egypt that it’s hard to say which one place was the highlight. Of course, the Pyramids were our biggest dream – so they would be our favourite destination of the trip.
But also Karnak Temple and Abu Simbel really impressed us. We have never seen something so beautiful like those temples.
We had many amazing moments in Egypt that we will look back on fondly. Probably the most unique experience was the Nile cruise. This was the kind of trip that we never tried before and that we really loved.
It was amazing navigating through the Nile and seeing the surroundings. We admired many unbelievable places in a few days.

3 Must-Do Experiences: Hurghada, Sahara Desert and Nile Cruise
The days that we spent in Hurghada were so relaxing. We loved the Red Sea and the snorkeling experience, even if we did it in other countries.
But in the Red Sea there are a lot of beautiful and colourful fish that we have never seen before. The colour of the water was so impressive – it looked like something out of the Caribbean!
The Sahara Desert near Hurghada isn’t made of sand dunes but of rocks. We loved it anyway! Because this way we tried for the first time driving quad bikes. It was quite funny.
We also tried Shisha. It was fragrant and tasty. Seeing a Bedouin camp and how the people live there in the Sahara was pretty cool.
As we mentioned before, cruising the Nile River was probably the highlight of our trip. We saw many stunning temples and places along the way.
The Karnak Temple – with its giant columns full of hieroglyphics – was amazing! Abu Simbel was another fantastic temple. We were left in awe at how the Ancient Egyptians could build such a beautiful temple like that.

Couples Guide to Egypt: Our Experience as a Couple
Our experience as a couple was fantastic. We highly recommend other couples come to Egypt and live this kind of adventure. In order to enjoy the trip the most we think it’s best to book with a tour operator and local guide. This is especially true for Cairo and the Nile cruise.
It isn’t that simple to organize excursions and movements in Egypt. Having a local expert guide and driver with you at all times makes the experience that much better and safer. We hope this couples guide to Egypt inspires you to take an enchanting adventure together!
