Ta Dung Lake, Vietnam: A Hidden Gem in the Central Ta Dung Lake, Vietnam: A Hidden Gem in the Central Highlands 🇻🇳 By Ash & Thy (@wanderlistjourney):
“Ta Dung Lake is the highlight of the region. There are various other things to do, like seeing the famous dam, but ultimately people come here to see what is described as the “Ha Long Bay of the Central Highlands”. Another highlight is the drive to Ta Dung. You are constantly heading uphill and the roads start to get smaller and smaller along the journey. On some sections of the drive – as you look left and right – you can see beautiful scenery and vast valleys of coffee bean farms and pepper farms. You feel so small in comparison to these giant valleys that you are surrounded by. Almost every new place makes you want to stop, take pictures and embrace the scenery. Simply put, the landscape is beautiful! If you are lucky enough to come to Ta Dung during the weekend then you can participate in the Mong Market at the nearby village of Dak Nang. The Mong community retained their traditional customs and culture when they migrated here from the northern mountains. Visitors can experience a new culture, similar to what tourists find in the Sapa region of Vietnam. Another experience not to be missed on Ta Dung Lake is taking a boat out to those small islands you see in photos. The price is about $100,000 VND per person. You are taken around the lake, stop off at a few small islands, eat some lunch on the boat and enjoy the pristine lake waters. Ta Dung Lake doesn’t offer many choices for accommodation. Hence, tourists often opt for camping. Sleeping by the lake, breathing in the fresh air and admiring the star-lit sky at night is a wonderful experience.”

Hierve el Agua, Mexico: The Ultimate Day Trip from Hierve el Agua, Mexico: The Ultimate Day Trip from Oaxaca 🇲🇽 By Charlie Martinez (@deftony83):
“My experience at Hierve el Agua was incredible for many reasons. While I was traveling in Kuwait months before, I had dreamed of visiting this place to propose to my wife. I imagined a sunset with amazing colours and recording everything with my drone while I was on my knee proposing. Unfortunately, the sunset didn’t quite work out. I decided to wait for sunrise the next day. We drove there in the morning and waited for sunrise. In the meantime, I was capturing some beautiful shots with the drone. But my wife stayed inside the car because there were stray dogs around. So the proposal had to wait for a more suitable and romantic moment. In the end, I proposed to my wife in Hierve el Agua and she said yes! I will never forget the excitement on her face. She couldn’t believe what was happening. Of course, this was my favorite moment from our Mexico trip. We spent five hours in Hierve el Agua in total and enjoyed taking in the views, doing some hiking, finding photography spots and even found time for a proposal! It was a wonderful day and one that we will cherish forever. If it wasn’t for the fact that we needed to go to Chiapas that same day we would have stayed for longer. The security guard allowed me to take the drone inside because I told him that I was planning on proposing to my wife. He allowed us to take the shots because we were the only ones there.”

Puebla Travel Guide: Authentic Masterpiece of a Ci Puebla Travel Guide: Authentic Masterpiece of a City in Mexico 🇲🇽 By Daniel Chazari (@dannychazari):
“Puebla is an amazing place. Mexico (in general) has landscapes full of color, a lot of history and its people are very kind and generous. Puebla is a region with so much history. We have the most beautiful cathedral in Mexico. The historic center of Puebla is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Talavara is a big tradition in the city. The Talvara decorative style is from Spain but evolved in Puebla over the years due to the city’s love of ceramics and clay work. This makes Puebla a fantastic place for shopping. Near Puebla you can find the city of Cholula which is home to The Great Pyramid of Cholula (Tlachihualtepetl) in the Zona Arqueologica de Cholula. This complex is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid in the world! Looking over the region is “the guardian” – Popocatepetl Volcano. To photograph and explore Puebla is to find yourself immersed in a diversity of landscapes and sites that include the most stunning cathedral and Popocatepetl. These are just a few of the reasons to visit my hometown.”

Why Visit Saint Barthélemy (St-Barth) in the Car Why Visit Saint Barthélemy (St-Barth) in the Caribbean 🇧🇱 By Romain Reglade (@romainreglade):
“St-Barth to me was wild, bewildering and witty. Your adventure begins when you step onboard the small propeller plane, which gracefully takes you through the clouds and progressively reveals the beauty of the Caribbean island. From your window you can spot all the different red-roofed villas scattered around the lush island surrounded by turquoise water. Not often do you see such vibrant colours on your travels. Landing the plane is an experience you will never forget as you land on an extremely short runway. What I really loved about St-Barth was the diversity of the island, from the crystal clear waters and stunning beaches to the plethora of fine dining restaurants – you can find everything here! Probably my favourite place on the island was Anse du Gouverneur (Gouverneur Beach). After taking a lovely hike, you suddenly reach an elevated cliff which reveals miles of clear blue waters and sand. It was magical! You feel like you are a boat captain discovering a hidden gem.”

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe: A Natural Wonder of Af Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe: A Natural Wonder of Africa 🇿🇼 By Jesse Neuhaus (@jesse.neuhaus):
“I arrived at Victoria Falls from the border of Botswana and had to wait there patiently for many hours before I could cross over into Zimbabwe. The drive to the falls was quick and easy, though. I arrived in the afternoon, visited the falls on the same day and left the following day. Two days was enough time to see it once but I would recommend staying longer if you have the time. Visiting in June meant that there was enough water flowing. For me, it was the perfect time to witness the waterfall. However, the conditions change depending on the season. So the best time to visit is totally up to you. David Livingstone (a Scottish physician, pioneer and African explorer) once said: “Victoria Falls was the most wonderful sight I had witnessed in Africa”. And he was absolutely right to make that statement! The falls are located in a national park with many trees around which gives off this jungle feel. There are many viewpoints to look out over the falls. When millions of liters of water tumble down from such a height you will stay there for hours and come to the realisation that we humans are so small. It’s such an enjoyable experience. You will be speechless and won’t be able to leave!”

Adventures in Uluru and Kata Tjuta — The Heart o Adventures in Uluru and Kata Tjuta — The Heart of Australia’s Outback 🇦🇺 By Beau Mitchell (@quietachiever2):
“I have visited Uluru and Kata Tjuta once before. However, my wife is Colombian and I wanted to show her the “real” Australia. You know – the Outback – landscapes you see in movies/documentaries about Australia. She has been living in Australia for four years and hadn’t seen much more than Perth where we were living. Uluru was one of the destinations during our trip around Australia that we were excited to visit together. We arrived at Uluru in October, 2020 and had initially booked three nights at the Ayers Rock Campground. Since the area is massive – and there are many hikes and different viewing areas – we actually booked an additional three nights after the first three days finished making it six nights in total. Some of the activities we did included hiking around the base of Uluru one day, through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta on another, and attending the free activities in the area like learning about the indigenous bush tucker and didgeridoo classes in the town square at Yulara. Another couple of highlights were our sunrise helicopter flight over the iconic rock formations and witnessing a lightning storm pass over the rocks on our first night there. All of these experiences were amazing to us.”
